The video explores the idea that LA doesn't really exist - a conspiracy theorist approach to looking at the city through the lens and structures of perfume advert tropes.

Aysha Leach is an artist obsessed with the fringes of film production: illusion, dis-illusion, and the superficiality of the medium. Painted backgrounds become real-life locations behind the lens of a camera, and zombie-eyed superstars come alive under the glare of stage lights. The work functions like an illuminated pool at night in a LA mansion, empty and glowing pale blue. She is interested in how beauty, glamour and aesthetics can be used to create a sense of numbness and nothingness.
